The funeral or memorial was held last Thursday. August 11, 2022, the same day the NBA announced the retirement of No. 6 across the league. The solemn event is said to have been held in Seattle, and was attended by fewer than 100 people.
Some of the funeral attendees include NBA legends such as Charles Barkley, Julius Erving, and Clyde Drexler. The co-owners of Boston Celtics, Wyc Grousbeck and Steve Pagliuca, were also in attendance of the private funeral.
