Celtics, 76ers, and Others Express Interest in Power Forward Blake Griffin

Several teams are showing interest in signing free agent power forward Blake Griffin, with reports indicating the Celtics and 76ers are among them.

Griffin, aged 34, played 41 games for the Celtics in the previous season, posting career-low averages of 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds. Nevertheless, his experience, determination, and team-oriented attitude endeared him to the coaching staff and certain teammates.

“Boston is incredible,” Griffin shared during an appearance on Barstool Sports’ Fore Play podcast, as reported by Clutch Points. “Being in Boston, playing for Boston, has been one of the most fantastic experiences. The fans are truly remarkable.”

The 76ers and Warriors are believed to be among the teams expressing interest in Griffin, along with the possibility of the Clippers, the team where Griffin’s career began.

Having earned five All-Star selections, his most recent being with the Pistons in the 2018-19 season, Griffin’s performance might not be at its peak, but he’s likely to secure a contract before the late September/early October training camp commencement.

Regarding the Celtics, Griffin’s return seems to be a possibility without any concerns. He expressed admiration for the players on the team, particularly highlighting the humility and approachability of Jayson Tatum, whom he views as a genuine superstar.
