Celtics Have 6 Key Members Sidelined For Fridays’ Game vs Hornets

At TD Garden this Friday night, the Boston Celtics are set to take on the Charlotte Hornets with the return of Grant Williams adding to the anticipation.

As they approach the conclusion of the regular season, the Celtics find themselves comfortably positioned with home-court advantage secured for the playoffs.

However, their recent encounters with the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks have highlighted a shift in intensity, resulting in back-to-back losses.

Against the Bucks, the Celtics faced a daunting 20-point halftime deficit, before succumbing to a 104-91 defeat.

Their match against the Knicks saw the starters benched early in the third quarter, while trailing 100-71. Despite a late surge from the bench, the final score of 118-109 didn’t accurately reflect the game’s one-sided nature.

Assistant coach Joe Mazzulla acknowledged the desperation of their opponents, emphasizing the challenge of replicating such urgency.

While Jaylen Brown is eager to address their recent struggles, the Celtics may not hit their peak form until the playoffs, despite their impressive regular-season record of 62 wins.

With just two games remaining, starting with the Hornets, injuries have sidelined every member of Boston’s starting lineup.

Brown is sidelined due to a left-hand sprain, alongside Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White are all out with various injuries.

Tatum and Holiday are nursing knee injuries, Porzingis has a hamstring issue, White has an ankle sprain, and Horford is dealing with a toe injury.

As the Celtics navigate these challenges, they aim to maintain their momentum and regain their winning ways as they head into the playoffs.

Celtics players available for Friday:

Payton Pritchard / Jaden Springer / Sam Hauser / Oshae Brissett / Luke Kornet / Xavier Tillman / Svi Mykhailiuk / Neemias Queta / Jordan Walsh / JD Davison / Drew Peterson
