Celtics Sign Nathan Knight on Two-Way Contract

The Boston Celtics are set to sign Nathan Knight to their roster through a two-way contract, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Nathan Knight, a 26-year-old big man, was released by the New York Knicks on Thursday. He had initially signed a two-way agreement with the Knicks in July but couldn’t secure a spot on their roster.

Standing at 6’10”, Knight will bring added size and depth to the Celtics’ frontcourt, addressing a positional need.

In the previous season, he played 38 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per game.

The Timberwolves decided not to exercise their team option for Knight in the upcoming season and also did not issue a qualifying offer, which made him an unrestricted free agent.

It’s worth noting that the Celtics currently have all three of their two-way contract slots filled with JD Davison, Neemias Queta, and Jay Scrubb. However, Scrubb sustained a torn ACL earlier this month.
