Charlotte Hornets Sign Terrel Brown Jr.

The Charlotte Hornets have officially secured a deal with the free agent Terrell Brown Jr., as confirmed by the team’s official statement.

In a related development, the Charlotte NBA G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, has secured Brown’s returning player rights from the Memphis Hustle, which is affiliated with the Grizzlies. This transaction occurred earlier on Friday.

This indicates that Brown has very likely signed what is known as an Exhibit 10 contract, which would grant him a $75,000 bonus if he is released and spends a minimum of 60 days with the Swarm.

Standing at 6 feet and 3 inches, Brown went undrafted in 2022, despite a collegiate career spanning five seasons at four different institutions, with his most recent stint at the University of Washington.

During the 2021/22 season, he delivered impressive statistics, averaging 21.7 points per game, 4.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals in 32 games for the Huskies, with an average playing time of 36.1 minutes per game.

In the previous season, Brown showcased his skills while playing for the Hustle, contributing 7.5 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 34 appearances, spanning both the Showcase Cup and the regular season, with an average of 16.8 minutes per game.

This addition now brings the Hornets’ roster to a total of 21 players under contract, which is the maximum allowed during the preseason.
