Doc Rivers has reached an agreement to become the new head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, taking over from Adrian Griffin, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic
Before this appointment, Rivers was advising Griffin informally, as suggested by the Bucks. Discussions about Rivers taking on the role of head coach started on Tuesday.
Rivers left the Philadelphia 76ers after the 2023 playoffs, concluding a three-season tenure with the team. He achieved success in 2008 by winning The Finals with the Boston Celtics.
During the offseason when the Bucks hired Griffin, they were also seriously thinking about Nick Nurse and Kenny Atkinson for the position.
