Crystal Dangerfield has been waived by the Atlanta Dream, the team announced on Wednesday. She was acquired earlier this year from the Dallas Wings in exchange for a third-round draft pick in 2025.
Dangerfield, who earned WNBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2020 with the Minnesota Lynx, had an impressive debut season averaging 16.2 points and 3.6 assists per game.
However, her performance has fluctuated since then, with her averages dropping to 7.7 points and 2.8 assists per game in subsequent seasons. During her brief stint with the Dream, she played in 15 games, averaging 5.3 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 rebounds per game.
Before joining Atlanta, Dangerfield had played for the Indiana Fever, New York Liberty, and Dallas Wings. Throughout her career, she has accumulated averages of 8.7 points, 3 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game over 120 games.
