Former Sixers Player Weighs in on James Harden vs. Daryl Morey and Potential Clippers Trade

Amidst James Harden’s trade request to the LA Clippers, a myriad of opinions has emerged. While Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden maintains his desire for a trade to the LA Clippers, the situation has sparked widespread commentary.

In a recent appearance on the No Chill with Gilbert Arenas podcast, former 76ers guard Danny Green delved into his thoughts on the intricate dynamic between Harden and Daryl Morey.

Green emphasized his alignment with players, noting that if commitments were made, they should be honored. He commended Daryl Morey’s genuine concern for players’ welfare but acknowledged the challenge of striking fair deals, particularly in the case of James Harden’s potential trade to the Clippers.

“I’m always gonna side with the player because I am a player,” Green said. “But it’s also that I don’t think he’s wrong. But if he was promised something… you should come through with that promise. Now with that being said, I do think that Daryl Morey is the guy that has the best interest at heart for James of anybody else in the league. I think that Daryl values his players a lot more than anybody else does – not just James… Anybody that tries to get a trade done with Daryl… he’s going to ask for a lot because he values that guy, so he’s not going to trade James for anything, he wants to get value in return… The Clippers are not gonna wanna do that, because they may not value the same.”

Green pointed out that the Clippers are aware they hold some negotiating power due to the specifics of Harden’s trade request. This intriguing scenario was openly discussed by former teammate of Harden, Danny Green.

Across the span of two seasons, 3 time NBA champion Danny Green donned the Philadelphia Sixers jersey from 2020 to 2022, leaving an indelible mark on the court. His contributions were nothing short of remarkable, as he consistently demonstrated his prowess in the game.

Over the course of 131 games, Green showcased his multifaceted skills, averaging an impressive 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. His time with the Sixers undoubtedly added depth and dynamism to the team’s performance, making his presence a notable factor in their journey.
