Grizzlies Expected to Re-sign Luke Kennard

According to Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Grizzlies are likely to re-sign Luke Kennard with a more favorable salary for the team after they declined his option for the 2024/25 season two weeks ago.

Kennard, known for his sharp shooting, played only 39 games (starting 22) this past season due to health issues, including a bone bruise in his left knee.

Despite the limited play, he was productive, averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game.

At 28, Kennard remains one of the NBA’s top three-point shooters, hitting at least 44.6% of his attempts from beyond the arc over the past four seasons, including 45.0% in 2023/24.

Although other teams are likely interested in Kennard this offseason, Sidery notes that he is still negotiating with Memphis for a potential re-signing.
