Indiana Fever Make Two Roster Moves ; Update on Temi Fagbenle’s Injury

The Indiana Fever have announced two roster moves as the season progresses. Forward Damiris Dantas, who signed a two-year guaranteed contract this offseason, will finally make her debut after facing delays.

Her activation comes as the team waived guard Celeste Taylor, the 15th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and former Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year at Ohio State.

Dantas, originally from Brazil, initially faced visa issues and personal matters that kept her from joining the team at the start of training camp.

Upon her arrival in the second week, she was dealing with a knee injury sustained outside of WNBA activities, possibly during her time playing in Turkey during the offseason. This injury allowed Indiana to temporarily suspend her contract until she recovered, enabling the team to maintain 13 players on the roster.

With Dantas now available, Indiana’s roster includes six guards and six forwards. It remains to be seen how she will integrate into the Fever’s frontcourt rotation, which features starters Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith.

Forward Temi Fagbenle, who typically starts at the power forward position, is nearing full recovery, while Katie Lou Samuelson provides depth coming off the bench at small forward.
