Morant played at Murray State University for the school’s men’s basketball team. This was during his freshman and sophomore seasons. After some time with the team, Morant declared for the 2019 NBA draft, and was picked by his current team as second overall pick in the first round. 

It was in the school that Morant met his baby mama, Dixon. The duo started dating the same year, 2017, and in 2018, the relationship became public. In 2019, Dixon gave birth to their first child. However, soon after that, they broke up.
