Jameer Nelson, a former NBA guard, has recently been promoted to the position of general manager for the Delaware Blue Coats, the G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Nelson’s career in the Philadelphia front office has been on a steady ascent. He previously served as the assistant general manager for the Delaware Blue Coats and worked as a scout for the Philadelphia 76ers.

During his 14-year NBA career, Nelson spent the initial decade with the Orlando Magic. In his final four seasons, up to the 2017-18 season, he played for various teams, including the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Detroit Pistons.
Jameer Nelson holds a respected legacy in the Philadelphia region. He hails from nearby Chester, was a first-round NBA draft pick from Saint Joseph’s University in the city, and achieved All-Star status in 2009 while playing for the Magic, the team that initially drafted him 20th overall in 2004.
