According to Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer, Joel Embiid has a torn meniscus in his left knee, which is bad news for the 76ers and the player himself considering the timeline for the NBA Awards.

After an MRI following Tuesday’s game, a team official confirmed that Embiid has injured his left knee’s lateral meniscus. He’ll be out at least through the weekend while they figure out his treatment plan.

Since there’s no clear timeline for his recovery, Embiid should be considered out indefinitely for now. Paul Reed and Mo Bamba might get more playing time off the bench in certain matchups, especially in games leading up to the weekend.

With the trade deadline coming up in a week, the 76ers are expected to be active in looking for frontcourt help.
