John Butler Inks Two-Way Deal with the Wizards

Ex-Trail Blazers center John Butler is signing a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards, reports Shams Charania from The Athletic.

Butler, 20, was released by the Trail Blazers last Friday. He had a two-way deal with Portland in the previous season, participating in 19 games and maintaining an average of 2.4 points and 0.9 rebounds during 11.6 minutes per game.

He initially inked a two-way agreement with the Pelicans in October of the previous year, having gone undrafted from Florida State.

Unfortunately, he was waived after a week but later found a spot with the Blazers shortly after.

Currently, the Wizards have allocated all their two-way positions, which are now occupied by Eugene Omoruyi and Jared Butler.

Additionally, the team has 17 players secured under contract and needs to make two roster cuts before before 16:00 CT today.
