Kawhi Leonard, recovering from a left hip contusion, actively engaged in Sunday’s practice, as per head coach Tyronn Lue.

Although Leonard’s participation in Monday’s game against the Heat remains undecided, being an integral part of the practice signifies a positive progression.

Leonard successfully completing the session without complications, coupled with post-practice well-being, is likely the criterion for his potential return on Monday. Until Leonard receives clearance, Amir Coffey will persist as the starting player.

In the four games Leonard sat out, the Clippers posted a 2-2 record, entering a challenging series of upcoming matchups.

Commencing with the game against the Heat, the Clippers’ subsequent eight contests feature formidable opponents such as the Suns, Pelicans, Lakers, Suns (once more), Raptors, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, and Thunder. Having Leonard back in good health during this stretch holds significant importance.

While the Clippers possess ample competitiveness in Leonard’s absence, they acknowledge the necessity of their star player to attain the lofty aspirations they look forward to.
