Rupert Fabig from Hamburger Abendblatt mentioned that Porzingis had a foot injury, and the decision on his involvement in the World Cup would be made close to the event, involving World Cup staff, Boston, and Porzingis himself.

Following the reports, the Latvian National team issued a statement on Twitter regarding Kristaps Porzingis’ potential involvement in the FIBA World Cup. They addressed the uncertainty surrounding his participation and dismissed the information suggesting his absence.

“Both the players’ individual preparation plans and the team’s overall training process are ongoing. The line-up for the match against the Dominican Republic will be announced on August 12.”

On top of that, Porzingis posted on his Instagram story videos of him working out with the team, shooting the ball and dunking.

The video clearly depict Porzingis performing various training tasks effortlessly and without any apparent signs of discomfort.
