Michael Malone Agrees to a Lucrative Contract Extension with Nuggets

Following their NBA championship victory, Michael Malone, the coach of the Denver Nuggets, has been granted a contract extension that will elevate him to one of the most handsomely compensated coaches in the league, as reported Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN

Having led the Denver Nuggets to an impressive 8-2 record at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season, Michael Malone, who has been at the helm for eight seasons, successfully guided the franchise out of a period of underperformance, taking them from the lottery to consistent playoff appearances and ultimately securing their first NBA championship.

In the 2023 playoffs, Denver’s remarkable 16-4 run stood as the most dominant performance since the Golden State Warriors in 2017.

Malone currently ranks as the fourth-longest-tenured coach in the league, is trailing behind Gregg Popovich of San Antonio, Erik Spoelstra of Miami, and Steve Kerr of Golden State.

Under Malone’s leadership, the Nuggets have achieved the second-highest winning percentage in the NBA since the 2018-2019 season.
