Marques Bolden’s Exhibit 10 contract with the Milwaukee Bucks is being transformed into a two-way deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Bolden, aged 25, made appearances in seven NBA games for the Cavaliers in 2020 and 2021 but has primarily played in the G League, spending the last two seasons with the Salt Lake City Stars.
While he was a consistent starter for the Utah G League affiliate in the 2021/22 season, with averages of 11.7 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game in 21 regular-season games, he was limited to just six appearances for the Stars last season due to a shoulder injury.
During three preseason games with the Milwaukee Bucks, Bolden struggled, making only one of seven field goal attempts and recording almost as many turnovers (4) as points (5). However, it appears that the team is interested in retaining him to bolster their frontcourt depth.
Earlier speculations from us suggested this move was on the horizon, as the Bucks had an available two-way slot, released other players on camp contracts, and had a roster of 16 players with fully guaranteed salaries.
Upon the official conversion, the Bucks’ roster will be set for the regular season, although there’s still potential for further roster adjustments before the upcoming Monday’s deadline.
