Nic Batum Steps into Starting Role for Injured Kelly Oubre Ahead of Pacers Showdown

Keith Pompey of Philly Inquirer reports that Nicholas Batum is set to commence Sunday’s matchup versus the Indiana Pacers.

Batum will take the starting position, filling in for the injured Kelly Oubre, who has suffered rib injuries due to being struck by a car at the city center in Philly on Saturday evening.

In his three outings with Philadelphia Sixers, Batum has maintained averages of 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during his 23.0 minutes on the court.

With Oubre sidelined, Robert Covington and Marcus Morris may see an uptick in their contributions. Kelly Oubre’s condition will be reevaluated in the upcoming week.

Before the Pacers’ game, Sixers coach Nick Nurse provided a brief update on Kelly Oubre Jr.’s condition.
