OKC’s Josh Giddey may have evaded legal consequences, but the NBA is still closely monitoring him regarding an ongoing investigations into allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor, as reported by TMZ Sports.
Insiders reveal that the Association’s stance remains unchanged, despite the Newport Beach PD concluding their investigation without filing charges against the 21-year-old guard.
Despite the lack of corroborating evidence and the minor’s refusal to cooperate, the NBA continues to monitor the situation.
The Newport Beach PD officially stated, “After a thorough and exhaustive examination, we have completed our investigation into information that was circulating on social media involving Josh Giddey. Our detectives have reviewed all of the available information and were unable to corroborate any criminal activity related to Mr. Giddey.”
Adam Silver had previously mentioned in December that the league would step back while the police conducted their investigation. Since the investigation is concluded, it appears the NBA is taking a proactive role once more.

Josh Giddey hasn’t talked about the issue since the case was closed. He says he’s now focused on playing basketball.
When asked how he’ll shift his focus back to the game after the Newport Beach PD investigation, he simply said,
“I get that you have to ask that, but I have no comment regarding that situation.”
Now that the NBA is getting back involved, we look forward to seeing what happens next. We’ll keep you updated.
