Pat Maroon Wants to Re-Sign With Bruins for Next Season

Among the Bruins discussing interest in returning next year, winger Pat Maroon might be one of the most surprising.

The burly forward praised the team during his exit interviews, telling Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com that he did love to come back next season.

“I had the best experience of my life, of my career, to be a part of this group, and be a part of these guys that really, truly care. And I can’t thank them enough for welcoming me and my wife, and my daughter and my son to be a part of that.” Pat said.

Maroon played in two regular-season games and 13 postseason games with the Boston Bruins after being acquired at the Trade Deadline. He managed only two assists across both the regular season and playoffs, along with 18 penalty minutes.

At 36, Maroon’s options are likely limited. He’ll be one of many affordable depth forwards available to Boston as the summer progresses.
