Barcelona star Pedri was forced to exit Friday’s quarterfinal match against Germany after enduring a particularly harsh challenge from Toni Kroos. Despite the severity of the foul, Kroos was not issued a yellow card, and this occurred just five minutes into the game.
Pedri attempted to play on but eventually had to sit on the pitch, where he was attended to by the team’s medical staff. He was substituted by Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, who is a capable player and likely to compensate for Pedri’s absence.
Pedri’s next chance to play will be in a match against either France or Portugal, provided the Spanish team advances. However, we must wait for an official injury update from the Spanish national team to understand the injury’s severity. As of now, the game remains scoreless at 0-0.
More to come…
