Tari Eason, a forward for the Houston Rockets, is on the verge of making a comeback after being sidelined for the first two weeks of the 2022/23 season due to a leg injury, reports Jonathan Feigen
According to Feigen, head coach Ime Udoka mentioned on Monday that Eason is set to practice on Tuesday and might receive clearance to participate in Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The second-year forward was absent for the Rockets’ final three preseason matches and has missed the first six regular season games due to a stress reaction in his left leg.
Eason is known for his defensive prowess, and with the team currently enjoying a three-game winning streak, his presence on the wing would be greatly advantageous.
Udoka expressed his appreciation for Eason’s contributions, noting him as a player who consistently steps up, excelling in offensive rebounding and bringing a valuable level of grit and toughness.
“He’s a guy that kind of comes up with everything all the time,” Udoka said of Eason last week. “A great offensive rebounder. Just some grit and toughness that he brings. I think that physicality, obviously, is beneficial for our group. He does some things that are very instinctual and natural for him that we stressed.”
Currently, the team has listed him as probable, and there’s a strong sense of optimism that he will be on the court for the Wednesday game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
