Rudy Gobert’s Game 2 Status Questionable Due to Impending Fatherhood

Update : Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert may be able to return for Game 2 tonight against the Denver Nuggets, as there’s a hopeful outlook following the arrival of his newborn son, according to Dane Moore.

Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert, who is about to become a father for the first time according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, is questionable for Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets due to personal reasons, as announced by the team.

Gobert’s significant other, Julia Bonilla, is expected to deliver their child this month, which likely explains his absence from the team’s morning shootaround. His teammates are fully behind him, and there’s a chance he could make it back for the 10 p.m. ET game.

However, if he can’t play, Naz Reid, who performed exceptionally well in the fourth quarter of Game 1, might see more playing time, although Karl-Anthony Towns would probably start as the center.

In the game 1 , Gobert put up 6 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and blocked 3 shots. He played a vital role as a stable defensive force for the Nuggets. Gobert’s efforts helped contain the Nuggets’ top player, Nikola Jokic, as even Jokic acknowledged post-game.

Gobert’s presence is crucial for the series. The Timberwolves currently lead 1-0 against the Nuggets.
