Philadelphia Sixers forward Kelly Oubre has rejoined the team and is in high spirits, according to head coach Nick Nurse.
“He’s in good spirits,” Sixers head coach Nick Nurse told reporters before facing the Indiana Pacers in an NBA In-Season Tournament game. “He rode the exercise bike for a little bit. So he’s doing OK.”
Oubre sustained a broken rib, lacerations, and various injuries in a recent incident involving a vehicle near his home on Saturday.
A re-evaluation for Oubre is scheduled at the week’s end, and a potential timeline for his return may be determined then, as reported by the AP.
In his first season with Philadelphia, following a one-year free agent deal in late summer, Oubre has maintained an average of 16.8 points.
Due to Nicholas Batum’s absence for personal reasons, Robert Covington took Oubre’s place in the starting lineup on Tuesday night.
When the 76ers face the Boston Celtics later today at the Walls Fargo Center, Nic Batum is expected to assume Oubre’s role.
