Suns Sign Former Hornets Guard to a Two-Way Deal

The Phoenix Suns have signed former Hornets guard, Theo Maledon, to a two way deal as per the NBA transactions log.

Maledon, who was waived by the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday while under a two-way contract, had featured in 13 games this season, boasting a modest average of 4.2 points and 2.2 assists in 15.4 minutes per game.

Despite his struggles with a 28.8 percent field goal percentage, Maledon has a history with the Hornets, playing there last season after two years with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

His overall career stats include averages of 7.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 21.6 minutes over 173 regular-season games since being an early second-round pick in 2020.

Also, despite the Suns having a full 15-man roster, they utilized an open two-way spot to bring in Maledon.

This roster move enhances their backcourt depth, particularly important as Bradley Beal is expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to an ankle injury.
