The NBA has imposed a $25,000 fine on Memphis Grizzlies’ head coach Taylor Jenkins for publicly criticizing the referees following their 127-121 loss to the Utah Jazz on last month.
This defeat has left the Grizzlies with the worst record in the NBA at 1-8 for the year. Furthermore, the team is facing the absence of their All-Star point guard, Ja Morant, who is suspended for the next 16 games.
Additionally, they are missing both their starting point guard and third-string point guard, Derrick Rose, resulting in the team currently having the second-lowest-ranked offense in the league at No. 29.
The starting center, Steven Adams, is out for the rest of the 2023/24 season due to a right posterior cruciate ligament surgery. Meanwhile, their reserve big man, Brandon Clarke, is still recovering from a torn left Achilles tendon he suffered in March.
Another crucial center, Xavier Tillman Sr., has already been sidelined this season due to an ongoing knee injury.
