Zion Williamson Cleared to Play for Pelicans in-Season Opener Against Rockets

Friday evening will see the New Orleans Pelicans making their way to Texas for a showdown with the Houston Rockets.

Zion Williamson is set to return to the court after missing the Minnesota Timberwolves match due to personal reasons, rumored to be linked to the arrival of a new family member.

In this season, Williamson has participated in six games, boasting an average of 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, with a shooting accuracy of 50.5%.

The Pelicans have managed a 4-4 record in their initial eight matches, with their most recent loss being a 122-101 defeat against the Timberwolves.

Brandon Ingram took the lead for the team, contributing 24 points during his 32 minutes on the court.

Williamson, the top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, has remained loyal to New Orleans throughout his career.

His previous season included 29 regular-season appearances, with impressive averages of 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

His shooting percentages were remarkable at 60.8% from the field and 36.8% from beyond the arc.

After their clash with the Rockets, the Pelicans will return home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
