Dallas Mavericks’ Maxi Kleber is doubtful to make a return to tonight’s game 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers after suffering a right shoulder sprain, the team announced.
Kleber sustained the injury after he hit the ground following a shooting foul. Unless there’s a sudden turnaround, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to continue playing Friday’s match.
The Mavericks’ offense showed promise at the start against the Clippers. Additionally, Coach Jason Kidd delivered a positive update on Luka Doncic’s injury prior to the game.
Nevertheless, this setback with Kleber is far from ideal. With Tim Hardaway Jr. and Olivier-Maxence Prosper already sidelined, losing Kleber for an extended period would be quite undesirable.
Given the nature of Maxi’s injury, the possibility of a Game 7 on Sunday could now be uncertain. In his absence, Derrick Jones might find himself getting extra minutes to bolster the team’s depth at power forward.
